Detroit Lions fans may never forgive Matt Patricia for this one. In 2019, the Lions had an All-Pro cornerback in Darius Slay. Then Patrica damn near made it his entire job to chase him and a bunch of other really good players out of Detroit.

The Philadelphia Eagles are releasing six-time Pro Bowl cornerback Darius Slay after five seasons with the team, according to team sources. The Eagles initially acquired Slay via a trade with the Detroit Lions in 2020,

The cornerback said there are “no hard feelings” about the Eagles releasing him and the 12-year veteran is open to a return to Philadelphia.

The Eagles are dumping one of their veterans in the team’s first major move since winning the Super Bowl last month.

Philadelphia has already made a few tough decisions by deciding to release both Darius Slay and James Bradberry. There are plenty more decisions on the way, obviously, The Eagles decided to hand Zack Baun a new three-year deal and have more work to do with free agency approaching.
