New York City will adopt congestion pricing on certain roads in January, Governor Kathy Hochul announced, after an 11th-hour delay earlier this year cast the programme into doubt. The revised plan features lower fees for vehicles entering designated zones of Manhattan.

Kathy Hochul plans to revive a controversial congestion pricing plan for drivers entering Manhattan at 60 th Street and below by knocking $6 off the $15 toll she rejected in June. The new $9 toll would need to be approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority Board at a meeting next week.
