Wisconsin staged a late rally after Dawson Baker's ejection, but BYU held on for a dramatic 91-89 win in the NCAA Tournament's second round.

BYU withstood a ferocious charge from Wisconsin’s John Tonje to hold off the Badgers for a 91-89 victory that sends the program to the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2011.

The Wisconsin Badgers saw their 2024-25 season come to an unfortunate end with a 91-89 loss to BYU in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Denver • Dawson Baker squirmed and shouted to no one as BYU punched its ticket to the Sweet 16. “Get a hand up, Mo,” he said to the television in the locker room. “Wall up. Good. Good. Get a stop.” Baker wasn’t on the court for the Cougars’ final possession because he was ejected – called for a flagrant 2 foul with three minutes left.

Such shooting numbers would be impressive against anyone, let alone a top-25 defense in Wisconsin and in the program’s biggest game in more than a decade. The lights clearly weren’t too bright for BYU.
